After the very successful UWCT Final in Aalborg and Hobro in 2015, the UCI Gran Fondo World Series are coming back with a break of one year to Denmark with a new Danish qualifier in Holbaek. The city is situated on the Danish island of Seeland, one hour west of the capital city of Copenhagen.
Cyprus Granfondo is the first European qualifier event of 2017. The organizers decided to add an additional individual time trial on the first day of the three days’ event. The time trial will take place on Friday March 24 for a 28.6km course with an out-and-back loop.
The Italian city of Varese (Lombardia) has been awarded the organisation of the 2018 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. It will be the second time, after Trento in 2013, that this leading event for amateur riders is held in Italy.
