The UCI Gran Fondo World Series continues to gain popularity, with five new events added to the calendar in 2019.

With a bit more than a week before registration closes, the Varese Gran Fondo World Championships have already more registered riders in the Granfondo road races on Sunday than Albi last year.

The 2018 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships take place in a few weeks with the main event on Sunday covering courses of 130 or 103km, depending on the age group.

With a month to go and a few weeks after the last qualifier events, the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Varese receive a lot of daily registrations.

The UCI is pleased to announce that age group winners of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series events, as well as defending UCI Gran Fondo world champions, will benefit from increased recognition at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships taking place in Varese (ITA) from 29 August to 2 September.

The Mexican qualifier event in San Luis Potosi this past weekend was a big success with the Time-Trial on Saturday sold out and more than 500 for the Granfondo on Sunday coming from 16 different countries.
