The 2026 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Niseko, Japan, from 27 to 30 August are fast approaching. Registrations remain open until Sunday 23 August, Japanese time. By the end of July, 1,456 riders from 67 countries had already registered. This number of nationalities sets a new record in the history of the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.
For the team relay, 13 complete teams have submitted their candidacy so far, representing Japan (2), Canada (1), Poland (4), Slovenia (1), France (1), the Netherlands (1), Great Britain (1), Latvia (1) and Germany (1). Over the next week, individual riders who have expressed interest in forming a team with compatriots will be connected to help create additional national teams.
