Perpignan new French qualifier on challenging roads this weekend

After Austria last week, also France will have a new qualifier event in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series with a mountain time trial today and a challenging granfondo and mediofondo on Saturday at the border of France and Spain.

The 10km time trial starts from the nearby town of Estagel in the Agly Valley towards the top of Forca Real, 460m above sea level with some splendid views over the area. The average slope is 4% but it gets steeper towards the finish line.

On Saturday, riders can opt for a 125km race with 1427m of elevation as official qualifier distance for all men over 60 and women over 50 while all younger riders must do a 165km challenging course with 2000m of elevation in order to qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.
