The 140km tough Granfondo started at 6h30 and was already sold out some time ago. Oka Yasumasa proved his strength in the final kilometer uphill to beat Konno Genta and Tasaki Tomoyasu in the sprint.
All women and men over 50 had to qualify in the shorter 70km race which covered the same roads as the second part of the Granfondo.
Etsuko Tezuka beated her compatriots Yoneda Kazumi and Enomoto Miho with respectively more than 2 and more than 3 minutes while Takahito Arataki was the fastest male on the short course, beating Nishitani Masafumi who was the fastest of the 50+ age groups.
The 3.2km time trial on Saturday was a test-event for next year. Keita Iwashima scored the fastest time in an average speed of 43 km/h. Fastest female over the same distance was Yoneda Kazumi with an average speed of 34.7 km/h
