Niseko Classic with big international growth

The third edition of the Niseko Classic as UCI qualifying event has been sold out with 1000 riders at the start.

The big growth is generated in overseas riders coming from 18 different countries. International participation went up from 10% last year to 19% this year with a large number of riders from Singapore and Hong-Kong, next to riders from Australia and Taiwan.

The courses have remained the same compared to the previous two editions. The challenging 140km course has an 834m high mountain as main difficulty while the 70km shorter course starts halfway with a 432m high mountain as highest point before reaching the finish on top of a last steep kilometer in Niseko.

There is also a time trial scheduled on Saturday as a test event with the goal to include it as official qualifier for 2019.
