The ongoing COVID19 pandemic worldwide is also reflecting on event’s organisations in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series in 2021.

With a series of national championships run over the different categories and disciplines last week, the city of Ballarat (AUS) hosted a successful first event in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series this season.

With a time trial on Wednesday and a Granfondo on Saturday in Ballarat (VIC), the 2021 UCI Gran Fondo World Series will start up again after a difficult year with Covid-19 cancellations last season.

The organisers of Tour de Bintan have announced that the event won’t take place on the last weekend of March 2021. The border between Singapore and Indonesia is still closed at this moment, and expectations are that it will still be the case in March.

The organizers of both Cyprus Granfondo, initially scheduled on the last weekend of March and Aristoteles Chalkidiki Granfondo which was meant to happen on the fourth weekend of April have requested to move their event to a later moment.

Cyprus will host the first event in the 2021 UCI Gran Fondo World Series in Europe. It has always been an event where riders combine a week of bike-holidays with the event who is organized as a stage race with time trial on Friday and two consecutive Granfondos in the weekend.
