The 2022 UCI Gran Fondo World Series calendar had its final event this past weekend in Portugal leading up to the World Championships in 6 weeks. A first season after covid with 24 events.

Good weather, local topstars Mark Cavendish (Quickstep – Alpha Vinyl), Chris Lawless (Total Energies) and Ben Swift (Ineos) at the start and a splendid course were the ingredients for the successful 7th edition of the Granfondo Isle of Man.
The third last option to qualify for the World Championships is this weekend on the Isle of Man, the famous motorsport island in the middle between England and Ireland who will also receive of cyclists this weekend.
The Spanish qualifier event of Granfondo Ezaro in the north western province of Galicia was again for Portuguese David Vaz who also took the win in the previous two editions of the race as UCI Granfondo in 2018 and 2019.
