Granfondo Tre Valli Varesine for Luca Vergallito after a 110km solo break

The 6th edition of the Granfondo Tre Valli Varesine in Varese was again a big success with more than 2500 participants amongst which Fabio Aru, Pascal Richard and Ivan Basso.

The 126km Granfondo was won by Luca Vergallito who got away with 110km to the finish to arrive solo with almost 4 minutes ahead of Rossano Mauti who finished with a small gap to Matteo Cigala and Mattia Gaffuri.

In the women race over the same distance, Sara Mazzorana outsprinted Martina Trevisiol and Samantha Arnaudo who also got silver and bronze during the world championships two weeks ago in Trento.

The mediofondo as qualifier for the older age groups was won by Mattia Manfreda and Noemi Cantele.

In the time trial on Saturday, Michele Paonne (LIE) rode the fastest time, beating Fabien Secondo (FRA) by 2 seconds while Diego Venturi got overall third four seconds after the winner.

Also in the women’s time trial, we saw a tight battle with Monika Veitova (CZE) as overall winner beating Olga Cappiello (ITA) by less than a second while Linda Venturino (ITA) got overall third.
