The French qualifier near Perpignan moved this year to the cosy town of Rivesaltes for a 19km time trial today and a 139/188km Granfondo on Saturday. 1500 riders have registered representing 20 different nationalities.

The new course is harder than the two previous editions as the total elevation goes up to 2686m with especially the Col de Roque Jalere (988m) as main difficulty on the circuit with a difficult middle section. The shorter mediofondo as qualifier for the older categories skips the Col de Roque Jalere but has another hard climb at the shortcut section.

Also the time trial course is new with a 19km course starting from the town of Cases de Pène with two climbs to an altitude 285m above the sea where the finish is located.
