Amy’s Granfondo has a long tradition as part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series. The race was already a qualifier since the very first season in 2011. The course has been reversed in recent years, but the challenge and atmosphere have always been of a top level.

In the men’s race, Tom Leaper (M45) beated a lot of his younger opponents in a time of 2:53:48, starting 6 minutes behind the younger categories but closing a part of that gap scoring the overall best time of the day, almost 2 minutes less than Nick Locandro who got first over the finish line, winning his M19 category while Ryland Mollard got overall third a few seconds later winning the sprint of a 10-men break.

The women’s victory was for Chelsea Wynd (F40) in a time of 3:14:50, outsprinting Megan Mansfield (F40) on the line in a big group with also a lot of men with Melissa Baster (F35) as overall third a few seconds later.

The King of the Mountain ranking was won by Mitch Lorkin in the men’s categories with Melissa Baster being the best female climber.
