L’Albigeoise to test the Worlds courses

All riders keen on becoming World Champion at the end of August have the perfect opportunity to test the Worlds courses this weekend at the Albigeoise in Albi.

The 20.8km time trial course will start and finish at the car race track for an out and back loop with some small climbs halfway, but mainly flat. It’s a rather technical course with some tricky corners and one climb of a few hundred meters along the road.

The Granfondo on Sunday has two distances: 95km for all females and males over 60 while the younger men must do a 147 course. The shorter distance is not so hard with 925m of elevation while the long distance is challenging with 2032m of elevation.

Last year, David De Vecchi won the sprint of three in the pouring rain. The weather forecast for this weekend is much better with temperatures going over 30 degrees on the days of the event.

A total of 330 riders have registered for the time trial while almost 1600 have signed up for the road races, coming from 31 different countries.
