La Leggendaria Charly Gaul paradise for the climbers

A 24.3km time trial on Friday and a hard and challenging Granfondo on Sunday over two distances will decide who will be crowned as winners in the Italian Granfondo and qualify for the World Championships next month in France.

The time trial with start and finish in Cavedine is often considered as the most beautiful time trial course of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series with stunning views over the lakes and a challenging climb in the second part to come back to the finish line.  The course that was first used during the World Championships in 2013 remains a beauty in the Valley of the Lake.

With start on the main square in downtown Trento and finish up on top of the 1650m high Monte Bondone, the Granfondo is one of the hardest in the series with a lot of elevation.  The 141km Granfondo has two climbs of the famous mountain for all riders while the shorter 57km Mediofondo directly goes up to the top as qualifying distance for the older age groups.

The Trentino area can also be seen as a perfect opportunity to combine tourism with a cycling event.
