Granfondo Suisse for the real climbers

The Granfondo Suisse is the second last chance for riders to qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships who take place in three weeks.

The race with start in Villars close to the UCI headquarters promises to be challenging with a lot of vertical elevation, starting with the Col de La Croix (1776m), followed by Col du Pillon (1546m), both in the first 20km.

The middle part is in the valley and less hard, but the final is back tough with Col des Mosses (1445m) and finish on top of Col de la Croix (1776m) in the opposite direction that was used during the start.

Total elevation over the short 108km course is 2620m.

M19-34 Gran Fondo World Champion Maxime Pirard will look for a good feeling in the weeks before the World Championships, but also former MTB world champion Christophe Sauser will be at the start amongst riders from 19 different nationalities.
