Granfondo Australia first event of the season

With a time trial on Wednesday and a Granfondo on Saturday in Ballarat (VIC), the 2021 UCI Gran Fondo World Series will start up again after a difficult year with Covid-19 cancellations last season.

122 riders have signed up for the time trial of 23.6km over three laps. The event also counts as Australian national championship. At the start we see many former World Champions.

The Granfondo on Saturday evening is restricted to 500 participants and will be organized on a local lap of 11.6km. All riders have to cover 5 laps for a total of 58km and 950m of elevation.

The Granfondo is part of a full weekend of national championships with also elite, U23, juniors and paracyling categories all doing the same courses.
