Organised for the first time in 1993, the 33rd edition of the Neusiedlersee Radmarathon in Morbisch am See in Austrian’s Burgenland is one of the biggest mass participation events in the country.
The weekend starts traditionally with a time trial with a 25km course containing two climbs, the hardest one directly after the start to go out of town and the second one on the same ridge coming back into town. The rest of the course is rather flat.
On Sunday, the 127km course around the Neusiedler lake has the same steep 2km climb in the start as the time trial with some additional smaller hills in the first 10km, but the majority of the course is totally flat and fast surrounding the lake with a section through Hungary.
Sunday’s Granfondo can also be followed via livestreaming https://www.youtube.com/live/ncpWINtKFVk from 10am onwards.
With day registrations, the event is expected to have 1800-1900 riders at the start.
