Cheaha Challenge Granfondo for Andrew Knight and Emma Drabbe

The Cheaha Challenge Granfondo is one of the oldest mass participation events in the USA with a history going back to 1993. This year’s event attracted 1000 riders coming from 36 different US States and 6 countries.

The 100-century ride on Sunday had Andrew Knight with the fastest overall time after bridging across the 5-minute time gap towards the start with the younger categories. Costa Rican Ricardo Rouillon had the fastest time in that wave for an overall second with Ethan Hughes from Colorado as third.

Emma Drabbe from Florida was the first female ahead of Sarah Powers from Florida who started in the second wave and Ann Harber from Georgia and who both finished at respectively 10 and 20 minutes.

In the Saturday’s time trial, the victories were for Andrew Knight who rode 38 seconds faster than Matt Clark and 1m15 faster than Ricardo Rouillon to win the men’s event while Karla Antonio won the female time trial 1m19 ahead of Patricia Caldeira with Blaire McCurry as third in the same time.
