Cecchini, Delbono, Lombardi and Gazzini to become the new legends

La Leggendaria Charly Gaul, the Italian qualifier in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series in and around the mythical climb of Monte Bondone and the city of Trento has again crowned their legends for this weekend.

The 141km long Granfondo with start in the city and two climbs on the Monte Bondone had a beautiful battle on the steep slopes with finally Stefano Cecchini winning in 4h28, respectively 1.50 and 2.02 ahead of his nearest opponents, Enrico Zen and Mauro Facci. Cecchini’s average speed was 31.4km/h.

The female race over the same distance was for Emma Delbono winning 10 minutes ahead of Simona Parente and Manuela Sonzogni. The average speed of Delbono was 28.4km/h.

The 57km mediofondo with one climb until the top was for Davide Lombardi before Andrea Zamboni and Andrea Pontalto while Serena Gazzini was the fastest female winning before Olga Cappiello and Deborah Rosa.

On Friday, the beautiful village of Cavedine in the valley of the lakes hosted a 24.3km time trial. Tommaso Donei won in a time of 36m23 before Belgian Filip Speybrouck and French Gregory Cassini in an average speed of 39.2km/h.

Fastest female in the time trial was German Carola Skarabela before Olga Cappiello and Kerstin Brachtendorf in a time of 43m33 and an average speed of 33.9km/h.
