Bitwa Warszawska Tour new event on the calendar

The city of Warsaw (POL) will organize a new Granfondo and time trial in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series on the first weekend of July to remember the battle of Warsaw from 1920, a series of battles where Poland beated the Soviet army of Vladimir Lenin to secure independency and peace a century ago.

The race will take place in Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki, 34km north of the city center and next to the new Modlin airport which was built in 2012. The city is famous for its Modlin fortress and three rivers.

The races are mainly flat with some minor elevation with a 20km time trial on Saturday and a 166km Granfondo or 93km Mediofondo the next day.

Last year, the event took place as a UCI 2.2 stage race over 4 days for professional. This year all bike lovers can experience the same routes and compete at their own speed and level. A new big mass participation event for Poland.
