New courses tested and approved in hot temperatures

The Tour of Cambridgeshire had for the first time a Century ride as qualifier distance for the men 19-59 on a new route with more technical and smaller roads in the beginning, resulting in smaller groups and less accidents. The women and men over 60 still battled on the traditional 67 miles course.

The English qualifier event is the biggest event in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series in terms of numbers of participants but also in qualified riders taking part in the World Championships every year. This year a so called ‘century ride’ over 100 miles is added as qualifying distance for the younger men from 19 to 59.

Schleck Granfondo enjoyed perfect weather conditions

The third edition of the Luxemburg qualifier event could benefit of splendid weather conditions. After a first cloudy version in 2017 and a very hot edition last year, riders enjoyed a sunny day on the Luxemburg countryside for the 155 or 100km event.

The third edition of Schleck Granfondo on the trainingroutes of former Tour de France podiumrider Frank Schleck has reached another participants record. The Granfondo over 155km has been sold out, riders can still register for the 100km on spot today or tomorrow morning.

Cheaha Challenge tops 1100 riders

With a new time trial and the traditional Century ride since 2004, the Cheaha Challenge in Jacksonville, Alabama keeps on innovating and expending. More than 1100 riders showed up for one of the various distances on offer and enjoyed their challenging and the hospitality of the event. Another 25% growth compared to last season.

The first American qualifier event of the season will take place this weekend in Jacksonville, Alabama and aims to go over 1000 participants with the day-registrations still open today.
