Last year, more than 5000 riders did the beautiful course and took the opportunity to ride a totally traffic free Great Ocean Road and the mountains of the Otway Range.
The race is organized since 2011 in memory of cyclist Amy Gillett who passed away too early after a cycling accident in Germany when being part of the national team and wants to put the emphasis on more safety on the road for cyclists to reduce the incidence of death and injury of bike riders.
The 120km course starts and finishes in Lorne and is since 2016 done in the opposite way, starting with a climb to finish along the Great Ocean Road. The event is one of two events who have been part of the series since 2011.
During the weekend, there are also side events with a hill climb, a cyclocross and some family rides for all levels.
