The Cape Town Cycle Tour once again lived up to its global reputation as the largest timed mass‑participation cycling event in the world, bringing tens of thousands of riders onto the iconic roads of the Cape Peninsula. Alongside the vast amateur peloton, the elite races delivered thrilling finales, with both the men’s and women’s competitions decided in sprint finishes.
Men’s race: four riders sprint for victory
The men’s race came down to a four‑man sprint, after an aggressive and selective race. With no rider able to break clear in the final kilometres, Ryan Gibbons clearly won in the sprint ahead of Jaedon Terlouw and Ryno Albertus Schutte. Callum Ormiston just missed the podium.
