The inaugural Belgian Granfondo, scheduled this weekend at Lac de l’Eau d’Heure near the French border and the Hainaut and Namur provinces, has been a resounding success.

The event sold out months in advance, attracting 2800 cyclists from 19 nations.

The 140km course, starting and finishing at the popular outdoor and tourism destination of Lac de l’Eau d’Heure, features 1400m of elevation across rolling terrain. A shorter 114km route serves as a qualifying distance for men over 60 and women over 50.
