The 8th edition of the Schleck Granfondo finished with a sprint between 5 riders with John-Ross Clauw taking the win ahead of Cedric Raymackers and Andreas Derweduwen. Jorre Debaele and Guillaume Seye completed the full Belgian top 5.
Although not qualifying for the world championships, the female granfondo was for German Nadine Heck who beated Swiss Jutta Stienen and Belgian Jo Wouters.
All women keen on grabbing their ticket for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships later this year in Australia had to do the mediofondo. Dutch Anouk De Jong rode an impressive race finishing more than a minute ahead of German Katharina Garus and Belgian Gwen De Loose who respectively finished second and third in a sprint.
The men over 65 also had to do the mediofondo to qualify for worlds. The race in these categories was won in a sprint by Belgian Leon Deuss ahead of Dutch Math Stoffels and French Richard Welvaert.
