Rescheduled Granfondo CRC506 Returns to Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast

After an unfortunate cancellation due to thunderstorms and flooded roads on June 1st, the CRC506 Granfondo is set to return this Sunday, August 24th, on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The event, the sole Central American stop on the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, is ready to welcome cyclists to the beautiful Jacó coastline.

Participants will take on a scenic 141km course, stretching from Jacó to a turning point in Quepos and back. Known for its relatively flat profile and just 841m of elevation gain, this course is a unique and fast challenge along the coast. For those seeking a shorter distance, a 73km option will also be available, starting from the Quepos turning point. This is the qualifying distance for older categories, offering a fantastic opportunity for cyclists to earn their spot at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.

The organizers have been working to ensure the roads are in prime condition and the event is a success, making up for the previous cancellation. Almost 700 riders have signed up for Sunday!
