Schleck Granfondo sold out with 3000 participants

With 2102 starters in the 160km Granfondo distance and 829 riders in the shorter 90km distance, Schleck Granfondo has been sold out two weeks before the event.

The mass participation event on Frank Schlecks training routes was organised for the first time in 2017, the year when Frank retired from professional cycling and has seen a steady grow year after year. The success of the event are the beautiful routes and perfect organisation with a briefing/pasta party on Friday evening and a big expo area during the weekend.

The 160km course is the qualifier distance for all men aged 19-64. The race starts at 9.30 on a mix of wide open roads along the Moselle river, but also scenic small backcountry roads mostly going up and down. Total elevation is 1750m.

The shorter 90km is the qualifier distance for all females and males over 65. They make a shortcut halfway to end with a total elevation of 850m. The start of the mediofondo is 45 minutes later.
