The first ever qualifier event in Russia in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series could benefit of more than 1500 riders at the start.

At nearly 5000 ft elevation (1524m), and nestled in the Northern Rocky Mountains, the Cache Gran Fondo’s 1st showing in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series was a day of high-points, with over 1500 riders from 23 different US states and 7 different countries, making this year’s Cache Gran Fondo the largest ever.

The UCI Gran Fondo World Series will grow significantly next season with 10 new events featured on the 2020 calendar.

With a 24km time trial on Friday and a 56/141km Granfondo on Sunday, the Italian qualifier event in Trento was again a big success this weekend with more than 2500 riders competing in one of the distances in splendid weather conditions.

The new Russian qualifier event, organized in the past 4 years but for the first time part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series is the last chance for riders to qualify for the World Championships in Poznan later this season.

Organized for the first time in 2011, the 9th edition of Cache Granfondo will get a significant upgrade as the event will be part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series.
