The biggest cycling event in the Middle East has been organized for several years in December and moves for the first time to the last weekend of November for the only UCI qualifier event in the wide region.

The UCI management committee has added two events to the 2020 UCI Gran Fondo World Series calendar. These events have already been part of the series in 2019 and before.

The fourth edition of the Tre Valli Varesine Granfondo this weekend was again a great success with a very international peloton with riders of 32 different countries at the start and splendid weather conditions.

Varese will be the host of the last European qualifier event of 2019 this weekend on the very successful routes of the 2018 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.

The 9th edition of the Amy’s Granfondo was again a big success with a lot of riders enjoying the scenic roads and climbs of the Colac Otway and final towards the finish along the Great Ocean Road and Surf Coast.

The new qualifier event in Costa Rica that was scheduled for the last weekend of September will have to move their event to a later date as heavy rainfall has caused landslides and severe damage to the roads and part of the course has been destroyed in recent weeks.
