La Bourgogne Cyclo on one of the most beautiful Granfondo courses

The weather predictions for the Bourgogne Cyclo weren't favorable with expected rainshowers during the day, but most of the day stayed dry in the end and only the last quarter of the Granfondo course suffered from pouring rain.

The course was challenging on very beautiful countryside roads with almost no traffic and no town crossings. The main difficulties were situated in the first half with roads who always went up and down.

Belgian Maxim Pirard chose for an early attack after 5km and finally went for a long solo after 20k to reach a maximum gap of over 5 minutes and finally finish 3 and a half minutes before the nearest competitor, French Nicolas Debeaumarche who finished just ahead of a larger group where Belgian Niels Merckx won the sprint to finish third overall.

The 97km Mediofondo who counted as qualifying distance for all women and men over 60 had French Marion Bessone as overall female winner before her compatriots Emilie Rochedy and Sylvie Riedle while French Marc Cartal was the fastest male over 60 to win the Mediofondo in his age group before Joel Navarro and Belgian Leon Deuss.
