Kos Granfondo with international participation

The Greek Granfondo who is taking place for the second year in a row in Kos Island after earlier stops in Crete, Skyrios and Rhodes is traditionally a very international event with a lot of people enjoying the hospitality and good weather in Kos and taking the opportunity to combine their vacation with the event.

The time trial on Friday with start and finish in Kos City is a back-and-forth loop along the shore with a total distance of 20.6km. A day of recovery on Saturday is welcome to be fully prepared for the 92 or 124km Granfondo on Sunday. After a neutralized start, riders head to a local 32km lap which has to be done twice or three times depending on which age group. The finish on top of Zia Village is the hardest climb of the day, but climbs are never very long or steep.

Total elevation is respectively 1295 or 1729m.

140 riders have signed up for the time trial while 200 have registered for the Granfondo, coming from 26 different countries. Kos Granfondo is traditionally a small-scale but very friendly event with many riders staying in the same hotel and connecting in the days before and after the event.
