Dubai Spinneys 92 Cycle Challenge to start the season this weekend

After a very long period without events in wintertime in the northern hemisphere, the UCI Gran Fondo World Series will start the new calendar year with a first event in Dubai this weekend.

The Dubai Spinneys 92 Cycle Challenge is already part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series since 2015 and has always been an event with a lot of different nationalities at the start.

The course starts and finishes in the Dubai Sports City and is a flat and fast course with a loop towards Emirates Hills and Jumeirah Island before returning back over the finish line. The second part is a long straight line over Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street towards the Cityland mall where a loop is done before going back to the finish.

Total distance is 92km for 280m of elevation, so a good start of the season to get back in condition.

A total of 2020 riders have signed up representing 91 different nationalities, 1291 of them do the qualifying distance, a new record
