Korea is one of the countries that do their utmost to keep the Corona virus under control and one of the decisions that have been taken by the organizers in consultation with the authorities and the national cycling federation is that Around Samcheok, the UCI Gran Fondo that was scheduled for the weekend of 11-12 April will now move to 4-5 July.

The first UCI Granfondo on Korean soil will have a 15km time trial on Saturday along the coastline with a small loop going up the mountain before returning to the finish line. It’s a straight forward time trial for strong riders. The 140km Granfondo has the major difficulty in the first part as riders reach the top of a 680m high climb after 38km. The second part is on undulating roads with one other smaller climb to an altitude of 237m, 27 km before the finish line. The finish is in front of Samcheok Art Center.

More than 2000 riders have already registered for the event, but all have been informed by mail of the new schedule.
