2022 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships startlists

The registrations for the 2022 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Trento have been closed and startlists have been made up.

A total of 561 riders have signed up for the time trial coming from 45 different nationalities. France is the most represented country in the time trial (60) followed by Great Britain (57), Germany (39) and Italy (34).

On Friday night, 20 teams have already confirmed their participation in the team relay, so 5 spots are still available.

The Granfondo and Mediofondo on Sunday will have 1533 riders at the start, coming from 58 different nationalities. Italy (159) has more participants on the slopes of Monte Bondone than France (138), Belgium (135), Great Britain (128) and Germany (99) but we also see riders from Chile, Sri Lanka, Honduras, Panama, Argentina, Zimbabwe, Bolivia, Colombia, Jordan, the Philippines and Iran travelling to represent their country in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.

The oldest male participant is 87-year old Arthur Duncan from South Africa who will do both time trial and mediofondo. The oldest lady at the start is German Maria Zander who turns 70 in December and will compete in the time trial only.

The youngest male is Hungarian Kornel Varga, who turned 19 in august while Polish Monika Wegrzyn will become 20 in December as youngest female at the start.

With a total of 59 different nationalities and the international spread with the biggest country only representing 11% of all participants, these UCI Gran Fondo World Championships are the most international cycling event worldwide every year.
