450 riders have signed up for the granfondo over 108km with start at an elevation of 1334m. The route goes directly uphill towards the top of the Col de la Croix (1778m), followed by Col du Pillon (1546m), both in the first 20km. What follow is a long downhill and flatter part in the valley before the second part starts with Col des Mosses (1445m) to finish back on top of Col de la Croix, this time in opposite direction of the route that was used after the start.
On Saturday, riders also have the option to qualify for the time trial world championships with a short but steep 11km mountain time trial, starting from Ollon at an elevation of 471m to finish where the start of the granfondo is the next day.
The time trial has a total elevation of 840m (7.4% average), the granfondo 2620m.
