The UCI Gran Fondo World Series continues this Sunday, 1 November, with Granfondo Greece in Loutraki, where riders will take on a challenging course across the Corinthian peninsula. The event returns for its second edition after making its debut in the series in 2025.
Starting and finishing in Loutraki, next to the Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, the 2026 Granfondo covers 111.32 km with 1,399 m of elevation gain. The start is scheduled for 08:30 on Sunday morning.
The opening part of the race is mainly flat before the course heads onto the Perachora Peninsula. One of the most distinctive features is the double crossing of the Corinth Canal, first shortly after the start and again with around five kilometres remaining.
The main challenge comes halfway through the race with a long climb of approximately 15.6 km at an average gradient of 4.4%, taking riders to the highest point of the course at around 671 m above sea level. After the climbing section, the route eventually returns to the coast for a fast final run back towards Loutraki.
With its combination of coastal roads, long climbs and the spectacular passage across the Corinth Canal, Granfondo Greece offers riders a scenic but demanding battle for qualification towards the 2027 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.
