Costa Rica Postponed as UCI Gran Fondo World Series Continues with Busy Weekend in Europe

It is set to be a particularly busy weekend in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, with two qualifying events taking place on Sunday 7 June in Europe.  While a third event scheduled in Costa Rica has been postponed, riders will line up in Estonia and Serbia.

In Northern Europe, the 45th Tartu Rattaralli in Estonia once again stands out as one of the largest and most established events in the series. Organisers expect around 3,000 participants from 30 different countries, with approximately 1,300 to 1,400 riders taking on the 135 km Gran Fondo distance. The event is known for its fast and flowing course and consistently attracts a strong international peloton.

Meanwhile in Serbia, the Gran Fondo Novi Sad continues its rapid growth as a newer addition to the calendar. This year, the event will host 600 riders from 30 different countries, underlining its increasing international status. The course through the Fruška Gora National Park offers a selective profile that is expected to deliver exciting racing over 110 and 77 km.

The CRC 506 Gran Fondo in Costa Rica, originally scheduled for the same weekend, has been postponed to a later moment in the season due to a very high probability of thunderstorms forecast in the region.
