Schleck Granfondo returns to Mondorf-les-Bains with another sold-out edition
Mondorf-les-Bains is set to welcome nearly 3,600 cyclists this weekend as the Schleck Granfondo once again confirms its status as one of Europe’s most popular mass-participation cycling events. With 3,594 registered riders, the 2026 edition has sold out months in advance, continuing a long-standing trend that highlights the enduring appeal of this Luxembourg classic.
Hosted in the south of the country, the event offers participants a unique opportunity to ride the training roads of Luxembourg’s most famous cycling brothers, Andy and Fränk Schleck.
A challenging test on Luxembourg’s roads
The Granfondo is the official World Championships qualifier distance for all men aged 19 to 64. The course stretches over 164 km with 2,250 metres of elevation gain.
The opening kilometres follow the picturesque Moselle river and continues going up north along the Luxembourg-German border. From there, the profile becomes more selective as riders tackle a series of climbs across the eastern and central parts of the country. After reaching roughly halfway across Luxembourg, the route turns back towards Mondorf-les-Bains via a network of undulating country roads.
The final kilometres bring the peloton back into town, finishing close to the Casino in Mondorf-les-Bains, where riders will complete a course that is as scenic as it is physically demanding.
Mediofondo
The Mediofondo covers 82 km with 1,100 metres of elevation and mirrors the early section of the Granfondo before taking a shortcut midway.
This distance serves as the qualification route for all women and men aged 65 and over.
