The 6th edition of 66 Degrés Sud – La Cyclo takes place this weekend in the Pyrénées‑Orientales, bringing together more than 1,400 riders from 26 countries and 86 French departments. With 75% of participants competing in qualifying events for the UCI and UEC Granfondo Championships, the event confirms its position as a key spring rendez‑vous on the international cycling calendar.
The event opens on Thursday with a 23 km individual time trial starting in Corneilla‑la‑Rivière with an uphill and technical course including the Col de la Bataille. On Saturday, the spotlight shifts to Canet‑en‑Roussillon, where riders start directly by the sea before heading inland towards the Pyrenean foothills. The Gran Fondo (186 km / 2,270 m D+) is among the longest in the series, while the Medio Fondo (138 km / 1,570 m D+) offers a more accessible but still demanding alternative for men over 60 and women over 50 to qualify.
