Granfondo Belgium welcomes 1150 riders from 29 countries this Sunday

This Sunday, Granfondo Belgium returns to the stunning setting of Lac de l’Eau d’Heure, welcoming 1150 riders from 29 different countries for one of the early highlights of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series calendar.

The event offers a demanding and selective course through the rolling landscapes of southern Belgium and the Belgian‑French border region. Men aged 19-59 and women 19-49 will compete on a Granfondo (138 km, 2,100 m elevation gain) while the older categories battle for qualification in the Mediofondo (114 km, 1,800 m elevation gain),

The race starts near Cerfontaine, where a 33km opening loop immediately puts pressure on the peloton before riders enter a series of local laps of 24km. Short but punchy climbs including the Petit Poggio (700m at 6.3% with a peak up to 9.3%) feature throughout the course. The finish near the lakes provides a spectacular backdrop to conclude the race after a difficult final!
