Van der Lijke Zijlaard & Wołos grab victory in sold‑out Millars Granfondo

Castellón della Plana delivered a great event yesterday as The Millars Granfondo returned with its strongest edition yet — a fully sold‑out field of 2000 riders, representing a truly international peloton taking on the scenic and demanding 157 km through the Sierra de Espadán.

In the men’s race, the victory was decided in a sprint of 6.  Dutch Nick van der Lijke Zijlaard won in a tight sprint, renewing his win from last year.

The women’s competition saw a dominant ride from Ewelina Wołos, a former Ironman World Champion from Poland winning with a large 5 minutes gap to French Granfondo World Champion and last year’s winner Gwenaelle Legendre with Spanish Ester Ruiz Aldana as third at almost 10 minutes.
