The Millars Granfondo sells out with 2000 riders

The first European round of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series this season, held in Castellón de la Plana in the Valencia region, has reached full capacity for its third edition, selling out with 2000 riders from 36 nationalities.

Participants will face a challenging 156 km course with 2200 metres of elevation, taking them through iconic landmarks including the Sierra de Espadán, Salto del Caballo, and the Alt Millars region. The route is a mix of demanding climbs and breathtaking Mediterranean scenery.

2025 winner Nick van der Lijke returns to defend his title, with last year’s runners‑up Pieter Frolichs and Alvarado Marza ready to challenge again. On the women’s side, reigning French World Champion Gwenaëlle Legendre is also back, aiming to repeat her victory from last season.

Adding further prestige to the start line is former World Champion Johan Museeuw, who recently turned 60. The three‑time Tour of Flanders and Paris‑Roubaix winner will join the peloton, bringing legendary status to this year’s event.
