Busy weekend with qualifiers in Turkey and Brazil

The UCI Gran Fondo World Series will host two events this weekend – one in Antalya, Turkey, and one in Timbo, Brazil.

Granfondo Antalya

Antalya will welcome 700 riders from 32 countries. The weekend starts on Friday with a 22km Time Trial. On Sunday, riders will choose between the 92km Granfondo (512m of climbing) or 60km Mediofondo (248m of climbing).

The courses have been updadted compared to last year with a new start and finish location south of the airport of Antalya.  There is minor elevation halfway and the finish is located near the famous Düden Waterfall.

As always, lots of riders combine the event with holidays to enjoy the hospitality in the many hotels at the Turkish Rivièra.

Granfondo Brazil

In Timbo in the Southern Santa Catarina region in Brazil, Granfondo Brazil will have 1000 riders from 10 countries. The event moved from Pomerode to Timbo for its third edition. The 120km Granfondo course winds like a spiderweb around the city with two major climbs going up to an elevation of 461m above sea level before coming back to the finish.  The Granfondo has 1263m of elevation.

The shorter 80km mediofondo as qualifier for the older categories skips the highest point for a total elevation of 625m.
