Last qualifier weekend with new events in China and Uruguay

The last two qualifier options for the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships will take place this weekend in Asia and Southern America where two new events will join the UCI Gran Fondo World Series.

China’s first ever UCI Gran Fondo, the UCI Gran Fondo Hangzhou Qiandao Lake is a two days events with a 16km time trial at the Xiang Lake on Saturday, followed by a 136km Granfondo around the Xiandao Lake on Sunday..

1300 riders have registered for the granfondo and 240 for the time trial, representing 30 different nationalities.

On Sunday, also a first ever event in Uruguay in the capital city of Montevideo.  Granfondo Asociacion Espanola has been organised as regular event in the years before but will be a World Championships qualifier for the first time.

The 130km course starts from downtown Montevideo and heads towards the country side to come back for a final along the coastline and finish back in the capital city.

A total of 2000 riders from 10 different countries have signed up to compete.
