Over 1000 cyclists from 30 countries will descend on the Isle of Man this weekend for the 9th Gran Fondo Isle of Man powered by Santander. The event, the final qualifier for the 2024 UCI Gran Fondo World Series, features a challenging 85-mile route with over 7,000 feet of climbing.
In addition to the Gran Fondo, riders can participate in a 40-mile Medio Fondo, also a UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualifier for men over 60 and women over 50.
The event also features the UCI Individual Time Trial on Saturday, where over 100 riders will take on a closed roads 10.5k ascent of the Mountain section of the TT Motorcycle race circuit.
Lots of riders have taken the opportunity to come over from other continents in the final weeks leading up to the Aalborg World Championships as the peloton Includes riders from as far afield as the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, India, Hong Kong and New Zealand along with riders from a wide range of European countries.
