La Leggendaria Charly Gaul and Tour of Cambridgeshire postponed to 2022

The organizers of the Italian qualifier event in Trento and the British qualifier in Peterborough have announced that their events unfortunately need to be cancelled for this season and move to 2022.

A recent increase in infections in Britain with the Indian (delta) variant of the corona virus and the postponement of relaxing lockdown restrictions for sporting events which are actually set at 4000 participants at the moment the organizers had to make financial commitments for road closures left them in an impossible position of having to take a gamble that restrictions will be lifted in such a way that the event can be delivered so a postponement was the only solution.

It was also clear in the last weeks that the event in Trento would have to be postponed from July to later in the season, but the full calendar of granfondos in September and Trento also organizing the Elite European championships in the same period made the organizers decide to postpone the event to 2022.

Both events will move back to their original dates next season with the Tour of Cambridgeshire happening from 3-5 June 2022 while the Leggendaria Charly Gaul will be organized on 8-10 July 2022.
