Neusiedlersee Radmarathon new flat event in Austria’s Burgenland

Almost 1500 riders from 32 different nationalities have signed up for the new qualifier event on flat and fast roads around the Neusiedlersee lake in the Southeast of Austria for this weekend.

Riders can expect a 26km time trial on Saturday with a climb in the first 2 km to get out of Mörbisch-am-See where the start and finish is located. The rest of the course has long straight lines with one other short but steep peak with 6km to go.

On Sunday, the same start is taken with some undulating roads in the first 12km before crossing the Hungarian boarder for a 40km loop through the neighbouring country. The rest of the course is mainly flat and fast with a final short upgoing road with 10km to go. Total distance is 125km for 1838m of elevation.

The race takes place in Austria’s Burgenland around the Neusiedler lake, a Unesco World Heritage Site with castles, palaces, museums and an impressive natural landscape offering 300 days of sunshine a year.
