Ivanova and Abuharrah impress in UCI Gran Fondo Jordan Dead Sea

The third edition of the Jordan UCI stage race in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, the opener of the 2025 season had the luck to be held under bright sky with sunny temperatures all weekend.

In the 19km time trial on Thursday, Aidar Zakarin had the fastest overall time in 24m47, 1m12 faster than his compatriot Sergei Kozulin with Majid. Basim Mohammed Abuharrah as third at 1m33. The female win on Thursday was for Elizaveta Ivanova in 29m36, almost three minutes ahead of jenny Berglund-Blanke with Ekaterina Krainiuk as third at 3m21.

On Friday, the first of two road races was held on a 73km course. Dominik Omiotek won with a minute ahead of Aburrah while Helal Alharbi got overall third at 4m24 on the hard course going from almost 400m below sea level to a peak 850m above the sea.

Elizaveta Ivanova repeated her time trial win, this time with almost 8 minutes to Kristina Romasko with Olga Janiszewska at almost 13 minutes as overall third.

On Saturday, the final stage over 76km was mostly the same course as the day before, but in opposite direction going up the splendid Panorama road to come down via Mount Nebo.

Ivanova scored the triple, also securing her GC win with Romasko as second at more than 10 minutes and Tamara Zein as third.

Jordan rider Majid. Basim Mohammed Abuharrah secured the GC win in the final stage, ahead of Nasser Saif Saeed Almemari and Mo’men. Abed-alhkeem Saeed Alrejjal.
