Granfondo Isle of Man on Cavendish’ training routes

The Isle of Man, famous for its TT races is also an ideal location to ride your bike and will for the first time also host a UCI Gran Fondo this weekend on the training routes where Marc Cavendish grew up.

The weekend of racing starts on Saturday with an all-new UCI Individual Time Trial taking in the climb of Snaefell Mountain on the infamous Isle of Man TT motorcycle racing circuit. The parcours covers just 9km but should not be underestimated, with a total of 400 metres of climbing to overcome.

Although the island is only 53km X 21km, competitors will be tackling a 137km closed road parcours in Sunday’s Gran Fondo that traverses some of Europe’s most bucolic coastal scenery, towns and villages and features over 1900 metres of elevation, with three significant climbs.
