UCI Gran Fondo World Series with two new events in Colombia and Guadeloupe this weekend

After a break of one month, the UCI Gran Fondo World Series enters its final phase of 2025 with three remaining races, two of them taking place in Central and Southern America this weekend.  Both events are new on the calendar.

Granfondo La Guadeloupe and the beautiful holiday island is the perfect opportunity to combine racing with some holidays.  The challenging 126km course in Capesterre-Belle-Eau has 2883m of elevation and one major climb halfway towards a peak of 620m above the sea, but also the coastline road is always going up and down.  86 riders have registered, representing 5 different countries.

Also on Sunday, Granfondo Colombia takes place in the capital city of Bogota with a major cycling community.  The 128km course has 1276m of elevation but the major challenge is the high altitude on the Colombian plateau taking place between 2500 and 3000m above sea level.  After a flattish start, the major difficulty of the day is La Calera climb, almost 9km at 4.7% average with its top 13km from the finish.  Almost 2000 riders from 18 nations have signed up.  The mediofondo as qualifier for the older categories is 80km with a shortcut after 31km.
