TIME TRIAL IN POLAND

The 10,6 km time trial is organized in the Polish town of Radkow, just after the border and 12km from Broumov.

It starts flat for the first 2km but then enters a climb which is 5.5% average over 7km to flatten out again towards the finish line.

Total elevation is 411m.  The start is at an elevation of 375m to finish on top at 771m altitude!

GRANFONDO CONNECTING CZECHIA AND POLAND

Sudety Tour is a challenging race with roads who are always going up and down.

There are two distances

  • Mediofondo : 96km
  • Granfondo : 152km

The mediofondo distance is the official qualifier distance for all men over 60 and women over 50 while the granfondo distance qualifies all younger age categories.

After the start, the race first heads towards Poland and crosses the border after 10km to pass over the time trial course of the day before in Radkow which is also the start of the major climb of the day, a 10km climb at 5% average in the Szcezeliniec Wielki forest between Radkow and Karlow and km 30-40.  After the downhill, the race enters back into Czechia where another iconic climb awaits : Vysoka Srbska, a 1km cobblestone climb at 10% average and 15% maximum at km 52.  The central part of the course first makes a big eastern loop, followed by a smaller eastern loop before heading back to Broumov to finish.

The mediofondo follows the same route including the major climb and cobblestone climb, but skips the part between 65 and 124km, making a direct shortcut towards the finish.

PROFILE

The full race is challenging with respectively 1230 and 2086m of elevation with roads always going up and down and one major climb on the Polish side and a steep cobblestone climb on the Czech side, but roads are always going up and down for the full course.
